Low-permeability, non-magnetic screws and couplings in titanium, phosphor bronze, ceramic and specific stainless grades for MRI, semiconductor and precision-measurement systems.

Non-magnetic

Overview

Components for non-magnetic environments

Where a stable magnetic field is critical (MRI and imaging, semiconductor e-beam and sensor systems, radar and precision instruments), components must have low magnetic permeability. For critical applications it is more reliable to specify a maximum allowable permeability (µr value) than to simply state "non-magnetic". NBK supplies non-magnetic screws and couplings in titanium, phosphor bronze, ceramic and specific austenitic stainless grades.

These materials also resist corrosion, which suits sterilisation and cleanroom use. Optional ultrasonic cleaning is available. Full specifications and CAD files are on nbk1560.com. Tell us your maximum permeability and load, and our engineers match the right non-magnetic component.

Why non-magnetic?

Low permeability

Titanium, phosphor bronze, ceramic and specific stainless grades.

Field-stable

Avoids interference with imaging, sensors and precision measurement.

Corrosion resistant

Suited to sterilisation and cleanroom environments.

Frequently asked questions

Is "non-magnetic" a precise specification?

For critical applications, specifying a maximum allowable magnetic permeability (µr value) is more reliable than simply stating "non-magnetic", because materials differ in how weakly magnetic they are. NBK can advise on the right material for your permeability target.

Which materials are non-magnetic?

Titanium, phosphor bronze, ceramic and specific austenitic stainless grades (such as SUS316L HiMo) offer low magnetic permeability, suited to MRI, semiconductor and precision-measurement systems.
